640,000 people visit this event over 4 days spending £17 million in the Eastbourne Area. What started out as a Sunday afternoon event for and by enthusiasts has become a major military display and an event high up on the UK calendar. The Red Arrows were slightly curtailed by a low cloud ceiling on the day but impressive nonetheless. We may know the Red Arrows but not everyone knows that they are an active service unit within the RAF and can be called in to theatre though it has never been required. The viewing angle is a full 180 degrees and it offers a day out at the sea-side in-between displays from the Red Arrows flight display, Eurofighter, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight amongst other attractions.
The Eurofighter display at Eastbourne was the best air display I’ve ever witnessed, if not the loudest.
