We also greeted SAE-UK company member from TRW Conekt, Maria Raybould, with a copy of the magazine covering some of TRW Conekt’s activities in defence recently.

We also met with TRL Compliance from Malvern who use a previously MOD owned site to conduct various testing operations such as RF interference with in-vehicle wiring systems. In a testing chamber which can fit a tank and still allow for the turret to rotate fully, the effects of mobile electronic devices can be tested on the wiring of vehicles. Incredibly, mobile phone emissions can have deleterious effects on electronic control systems in all vehicles including effects on vehicle acceleration and even stalling.
